Civilian moral injury: associations with trauma type and high-frequency heart rate variability in two trauma-exposed community-based samples

چکیده
Abstract Background Moral injury exposure (MIE) and distress (MID) may indirectly affect the relationship between trauma alterations in autonomic regulation [assessed via high-frequency heart rate variability (hfHRV)] civilians, but this has not been tested prior research. We conducted two exploratory studies to examine types' associations with MIE MID among civilian medical patients (Study 1) explore how these facets type hfHRV civilians seeking mental health services 2). Methods Participants recruited from a public hospital and/or community advertisements 1, n = 72, 87.5% Black, 83.3% women; Study 2, 46, 71.7% 97.8% women) completed measures assessing type, MIE, MID. In types that emerged as significant correlates of were entered into separate linear regression analyses. Trauma identified included predictors indirect effects models or mediator resting (assayed electrocardiography) outcome. Results Childhood sexual abuse only predictor b 0.38, p < 0.001; childhood abuse, 0.26, 0.05, adulthood assault, 0.23, 0.05 greater demonstrated lower hfHRV. Adulthood assault showed an effect on through MID, B −0.10, s.e. 0.06, 95%CI (−0.232 −0.005). Conclusions was uniquely associated violence civilians. Data highlight moral pathway which dysregulation emerge its salience for treatment selection.

The remainder of the chapters are presented in alphabetical order with 36 pages devoted to "Dermatologic Emergencies" (only 19 pages were reserved for "Resuscitation"), and I find it hard to believe that male pattern baldness was even mentioned. Most of the chapters on standard medical and surgical chapters are adequate for the amount of information presented, but little omissions occur frequen...
متن کاملVascular Shunts in Civilian Trauma
Experience with temporary intravascular shunts (TIVS) for vessel injury comes from the military sector and while the indications might be clear in geographically isolated and under resourced war zones, this may be an uncommon scenario in civilian trauma. Data supporting TIVS use in civilian trauma have been extrapolated from the military literature where it demonstrated improved life and limb s...
متن کاملMilitary trauma training performed in a civilian trauma center.
BACKGROUND In 1996, Congress passed legislation requiring the Department of Defense to conduct trauma training in civilian hospitals. In September of 1998 an Army team composed of surgeons, nurses, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and operating room technicians (OR techs) trained in a civilian level 1 trauma center. This study analyzes the quality of the training. METHODS The training pe...
متن کاملHeart rate variability and its association with mortality in prehospital trauma patients.
BACKGROUND Accurate prehospital triage of trauma patients is difficult, especially in mass casualty situations. Accordingly, the U.S. Military has initiated a program directed toward improving noninvasive prehospital triage algorithms based on available physiologic data. The purpose of this study was to assess heart rate variability and its association with mortality in prehospital trauma patie...
